Minn. (KTTC) – Governor Tim Walz plans to speak out Tuesday morning about the impact the federal government’s immigration surge has had on small businesses across Minnesota.

According to Walz’s office, the governor is expected to share remarks at 11 a.m. alongside Matt Varilek, the commissioner of Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development and small business owners.

Governor Walz says increased ICE enforcement in the state has resulted in reduced foot traffic, staffing disruptions and, in extreme cases, the partial or full closure of businesses.

A recording of the event will be provided shortly.
