Mason City firefighters raising charity money for annual ‘Fill the Boot’ campaign

MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) – Local firefighters in Mason City will head to the streets Friday with boots in hand to raise money for a good cause.

Members of IAFF Local 41 are kicking off their annual ‘Fill the Boot’ campaign.

Through Labor Day, you can spot firefighters collecting donations at major intersections, including Monroe Avenue and 1st Street NW and near Fleet Farm and Menards.

All money raised goes to the Muscular Dystrophy Association to fund research and support local families with ALS and other neuro-muscular diseases.

In 2025, Mason City crews raised more than $18,000, and they are looking to beat that record this holiday weekend.
