Iowa man charged with possession of CSAM

STACYVILLE, Iowa (KTTC) – An Iowa man pled guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in federal court according to a press release from the Mason City Police Department.
At the hearing on August 31, William Collins, 44 of Stacyville, admitted to receiving and attempting to receive images of CSAM between January 2015 and September 2025.
A search warrant of Collins’ phone revealed 17 videos and 75 images of CSAM and hundreds of images of “child erotica.”
Authorities say Collins was previously convicted of possession of CSAM in 2008 and served time in federal prison.
The case is a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to better locate and prosecute child sexual exploitation.
Collins’ sentence is still pending but he faces a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.
