ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A man accused in a 2025 Rochester murder will not go to trial this month after being charged with five new felonies while out on bond.

According to Olmsted County’s jail roster, Ibrahim Abdi was rebooked into jail on Aug. 31.

Tuesday was scheduled to be Abdi’s pre-trial hearing for his second-degree murder case. Prosecutors allege he shot and killed 35-year-old Sadik Yusuf in July 2025 near the Essex Park Apartments.

Records show Abdi was released on a $1 million bond in May 2026.

While out on bond, Abdi was charged with additional crimes.

He is accused of felony DWI and selling narcotics related to incidents in early August.

Abdi is scheduled to appear before a judge Thursday for a bail hearing. Prosecutors wrote to the judge that Abdi is a significant public safety risk.
