ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – People across southeast Minnesota have been reeling and repairing from the recent thunderstorms rolling through the Midwest.

Yucatan, a township of a little more than 300 people, was no exception.

A barn owner in the area said that he had arrived home with his daughter yesterday afternoon as the storms were starting to come into the township. He soon received a call from his neighbor, telling him to look outside.

He saw a funnel cloud spinning towards the ground and rushed to take shelter.

The observed tornado tore through the family barn, taking the roof off and throwing it into the surrounding fields.

There were several trees on the same property split in half, with debris scattered across the ranch.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, nor were the family’s two horses.
