David joined the KTTC team in July 2023 and comes from the great state of Ohio – Go Bucks!
He grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, along the shores of Lake Erie, and is no stranger to the drastic weather the Midwest can bring.
He recently graduated from The Ohio State University in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science. Before earning that degree David attended Kent State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. During his time in college, he was heavily involved in Kent State’s award-winning, student media program where he gained experience with producing, reporting and weather anchoring. Throughout his academic career, he interned at WOIO, WKBN and The Weather Channel too.
As a kid, growing up in Northeast, Ohio, David remembers experiencing intense lake effect snowstorms bringing up to two feet of snow, severe thunderstorms, and even seeing the fierce waves Superstorm Sandy brought to Lake Erie in 2012. David ultimately knew he wanted to become a meteorologist after taking an introductory meteorology course at Kent State and using the new knowledge to aid his forecasts.
Outside of work, you can find David exploring the many parks and trails that southeastern Minnesota has. David loves to be outdoors whether that be boating, hiking, or biking. David is excited to start his career in Rochester and to get more experience forecasting all types of weather, but especially winter weather. If you see him around town, feel free to say hi!
