Charles joined the KTTC News team as a weekend morning anchor/multimedia journalist in September 2023. He was born and raised in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in broadcast journalism with a certificate in digital arts & culture.
Growing up, Charles was involved with the performing arts, took private voice lessons from middle school through college and plays the piano and ukulele. He is no stranger to the camera, with experience in print modeling, commercial work and has a film IMDb credit.
As a journalism student, Charles has the opportunity to intern at The Morning Blend at TMJ4 in Milwaukee where he had opportunities to fill-in host for the live daily talk show. Through his journalism program, he traveled to Puerto Rico in spring of 2022 with nine other students to report on issues ranging from statehood to power outages where he got to interview Senator María de Lourdes Santiago. In May 2023, they won a Gold Milwaukee Press Club Award for "Online: Best Use of Multimedia" for their coverage.
While at UWM, he was a brother of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity and a content creator/brand ambassador for the UW-Milwaukee Instagram and TikTok page.
Charles is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
