WABASHA, Minn. (KTTC) – Wabasha is set to receive funds to clean up a property tainted with petroleum and other contaminants.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is awarding eight different projects around the state with more than $1.6 million for cleanup projects.
$91,672 of that will go toward a roughly half-acre site to develop a 50-unit affordable apartment building in Wabasha.
The property had previously housed an auto repair shop, gas station and machine shop.
Matching funds are coming from the Wabasha Port Authority and Tax Increment financing.
