New UnitedHealthcare CEO has been named after killing of Brian Thompson

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – UnitedHealthcare has tapped its new CEO, following the killing of the previous CEO Brian Thompson last month.

According to Kare11, Tim Noel was tapped as the new UnitedHealthcare CEO. Noel had previously served as the CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare & Retirement unit.

26-year-old Luigi Mangione is currently facing several charges in relation to the death of Thompson. Following Thompson’s death, many voiced their frustrations about insurance companies.

According to the Associated Press, UnitedHealthcare covers more than 49 million people in the United States.
