Athlete of the Week: Adam Glynn, Byron Bears football
BYRON, Minn. (KTTC) – Byron’s senior running back, Adam Glynn, poses a challenge to every defense he faces. The biggest problem? Catching him.
“I feel like it’s mostly in my speed and my vision. I feel like that’s probably the best part of my game,” said Glynn.
Speed and vision aren’t the only attributes that make him great.
“You know, Adam is a real complete back,” stated Byron head coach, Ben Halder. “He can catch it, he can block, he can. He sees the field while he can be between the tackles. He can be outside of the tackle, and you know, he’s a really good leader. He’s real humble.”
Against South St. Paul in the regular season finale: 204 rushing yards, and 5 total touchdowns, including an 88-yard kickoff return touchdown. Finding the endzone never gets old.
“It feels good, but I know it feels better for the O-line,” laughed Glynn. “They love it, so I’ll be taking them out to dinners after.”
Adam Glynn is a true beast in the backfield.
“We all knew it was in him, you know, especially after the year he had last year,” added Halder. “You know, the one thing that’s really been a little bit not surprising, but just welcome is he did set our single-season touchdown record with 22 touchdowns, which is a lot of touchdowns in eight games.”
The success doesn’t get to Glynn’s head.
“You know, he’s gracious. He’s humble. He’s just as a good kid. I don’t know how else to explain it. He’s just a good dude,” finished Halder.
Glynn and the Byron Bears have a first-round bye in the Section 1AAAA tournament, and faces Winona in the semi’s, Saturday.
