Rochester organization sends supplies to Ukraine
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – As the war rages on in Ukraine, a Rochester organization is making sure people in Ukraine have the necessary medical supplies they need.
Volunteers with Rochester Medical and Relief Mission Group spent today boxing up medical supplies and various equipment to send to Ukraine to help people in need.
The organization says 95 percent of the supplies is donated by Mayo Clinic and other hospitals in the area.
Items being sent off Friday include gauze, gloves and other PPE, respiratory and orthopedic supplies, along with general surgery and other medical equipment.
One of the organization’s directors says the group sends necessary medical equipment where it’s needed most when it is able to.
“It’s just humbling,” Rochester Medical and Relief mission Group Director Dianne Wagner said. “I mean, you see the pictures on TV and none of us would want to be in those situations without resources. So it’s just gratifying to know that we can be a small part in that.”
Rochester Medical and Relief Mission Group sends supplies locally, across the U.S. and internationally.
