Rochester man with multiple active warrants arrested
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A Rochester man with at least 10 active warrants in Olmsted County is now in custody.
According to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were searching for Matthew Marquette, 30, at an apartment building on Marion Road Southeast just before 12 p.m. Thursday.
A man, who was not Marquette, answered the door and let deputies inside. They found Marquette in a bedroom.
When deputies entered the bedroom, body camera footage showed Marquette jumping out of the third-story window and fleeing on foot.
Minutes later, they found and arrested him in a backyard on 15th Street Southeast.
He was taken to Mayo Clinic Saint Marys. Officials said he was not hurt from the jump.
Marquette has been charged with obstructing the legal process and fleeing a peace officer on foot.
He was wanted in Olmsted County for felony arrest warrants for third-degree burglary, four counts of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor arrest warrants for disorderly conduct, trespassing, and three counts of theft.
In addition, Marquette also had a felony warrant out of Winona County for failure to appear for a controlled substance, as well as a misdemeanor warrant out of Goodhue County for failure to appear for false name to peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
