ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Valentine’s Day is a popular day to get engaged and usually meaning wedding plans begin as soon as the next day.

So how are wedding venues doing as we continue to live through the pandemic and variant surges?

Blue Moon Ballroom is reporting significant improvement since the pandemic shut it down for most of 2020.

This past winter has been better than normal and the venue is looking at a very busy rest of 2022 with many receptions already booked.

Blue Moon is looking ahead to business continuing to improve following Valentine’s Day.

“We expect a surge of phone calls and emails inquiring about wedding receptions as a result of Valentine’s,” Blue Moon Ballroom Director Fred Gommels. “Usually there’s a surge right after Christmas and then a lull and then a surge after Valentine’s.”

In addition to being a wedding reception venue Blue Moon Ballroom also offers dance lessons.
