ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) –On Fifth Street SW in Rochester, there’s a special aroma in the air. For some, it’s a reminder of the Italian district in New York. Or even southern Italy.

The man behind the popular pizzeria has strong ties to both. And he’s using the success of his business to help many others in the community.

Chef Pasquale Presa is the owner of Pasquale’s Neighborhood Pizzeria. And while feeding the bellies of his followers, he’s also interested in feeding their spirits.

Where there is a need, Chef Pasquale responds, often donating around tens of thousands of dollars in free food to area organizations. In December, he gave more than two-hundred Italian meals to feed the hungry at the Rochester Salvation Army.

The culinary spirit of his family in southern Italy has never left Chef Pasquale. He brings those flavors to his pizzeria, most recently with olive oil gleaned from ancient olive trees on his family farm in southern Italy.

You could say Chef Pasquale has got a good life: a thriving business, and a happy family with strong ties to Italy. It’s where he learned the art of helping others and making connections with his community.
