ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Across the nation, Betty White fans are seeking to honor the late animal lover on her birthday, including Rochester’s very own Paws and Claws Humane Society.

PCHS is joining the viral hashtag, #BettyWhiteChallenge, to raise money for furry friends at its shelter. White was known for her animal advocacy, and PCHS is hoping to raise $5,000 by the end of the campaign.

“She was an advocate for spaying and neutering your pets. so that $5,000 will go to our spay and neuter fund,” Shelter Director Tayna Johnson said. “We have probably 25 puppies and probably 30 kittens right now waiting to be spayed and neutered”
