ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Rochester residents were lined up at the Valleyhigh Drive post office waiting to get their packages Saturday.

They all received emails that said their packages would no longer be delivered to the original delivery address and instead had to be picked up at the post office.

Some customers said they waited in line for over an hour.

Post office workers said the reason for the delays is due to the high volume of packages and just not enough time to delivery them.

“It’s a very stressful time of year and with staffing shortages all over the country right now and just trying my best to be patient. I’ve been in similar situations where I’m getting yelled at or something, so it’s that I want to do is put more pressure on them,” customer Allysha Corscadden said, who had been waiting for over an hour.

In a statement to KTTC Friday night, USPS says, “During this busy holiday season, we appreciate the patience of our customers and the efforts of employees as conditions change on a day-to-day basis.”
