A cool, quiet end to the week; a stretch of mild, tranquil weather is on the way
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – We have a breezy, but peaceful weekend ahead
A day after we dealt with frigid, winter-like weather for our Thanksgiving day, we’re seeing signs of a decent warm-up heading our way. That warmer air is flowing into the region today on southerly winds that have developed ahead of a storm system that is approaching from the Plains to our west. We’ll have occasional sunshine and clouds throughout the day with afternoon high temperatures in the mid-30s. That would be typical for this time of the year and about ten degrees warmer than Thursday afternoon.
Temperatures tonight will be quite a bit warmer than the past few nights with readings hovering in the mid and upper 20s and just a hint of a south breeze.
Temperatures will be a little warmer for Saturday, but it’s looking like a rather blustery day as a storm system grazes the area to the north, dragging a cold front through the Upper Mississippi Valley. We may encounter a sprinkle or two along and behind that front, but a gusty northwest breeze will have more of an impact on us. Expect occasional sunshine during the day with northwest winds reaching 25 miles per hour. High temperatures will be in the lower 40s with wind chill values in the 20s and lower 30s.
Sunday is looking a little sunnier and a bit less windy with high temperatures in the mid-30s.
Warmer air will make its way into the region for next week and right now it looks like we’ll enjoy a spell of sunny, mild weather for the first few days of December. Look for high temperatures in the low to mid-40s all week with perhaps a shot at reaching 50 degrees in a few spots next Thursday!
