Suspect pleads not guilty in Mason City officer-involved shooting
MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) – The suspect in an officer-involved shooting in Mason City last month has entered a not guilty plea.
On October 3, a shooting was reported at the Happy Donkey Bar, located on Federal Avenue and State Street.
Officer Noah Friese was on foot on his way to the scene when two men were running towards him. One of those men was Jelani Faulk, 25, of Chicago.
According to investigators, Faulk pulled a gun and officer Friese shot him.
The Winnebago County attorney later justified Friese’s actions.
It was determined that Faulk was a suspect in the Happy Donkey Bar shooting, which killed Christopher Tucker, 35.
