We just can't seem to shake the rain as of late and it looks like we'll have rain to contend with over the next 24 hours. Our latest storms system, which initially looked to remain to our south, is taking a more northerly track and that means more rain and potential thunderstorms for the area from this evening through Thursday. While the threat for severe weather remains low, more widespread, heavy rainfall may contribute to river rises across southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa.

Showers and thunderstorms spread north for this evening bringing the chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout tonight. Showers linger across northern Iowa and southern Minnesota for Thursday which will keep temperatures in check with highs stuck in the upper 60s.

This latest storm system should finally head east by Friday, but that doesn't mean we're out of the woods when it comes to more rainfall. Isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons as several small storm systems sweeps across the western Great Lakes. The good news is that we're not looking at a washout over these days as temperatures rebound back into the mid to upper 70s for Friday and Saturday then perhaps the lower 80s by Sunday!
