ROCHESTER (KTTC-DT) -- Ice pellets, freezing rain and wet snow combined Sunday to slow down drivers in southeastern Minnesota and northern Iowa.  Those who chose not to slow down occasionally paid the price, sliding into the ditch or into a guard rail.

Across the area early Sunday afternoon, tow trucks and police officers were helping drivers who couldn't stay on the road or ran into something.  No serious injuries were reported.

Difficult driving conditions were reported by Mn/DOT crews on U.S. 52, I-90, U.S. 63 and other major highways because of slush, freezing rain and slippery spots.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported one truck accident on eastbound I-90 in Freeborn County.  A double semi-trailer rolled over onto its side about noon, near milepost 172.  The driver, 48-yaer-old James Graves of Nicholls, Georgia, was hurt but his injuries were described as non-life threatening.  I-90 was reported to be icy at the time.
