Congressmen working to free Fargo native Roxana Saberi from Iranian custody

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Members of North Dakota's congressional delegation say they have met with the State Department about a journalist being detained in Iran.

Iranian officials have said Fargo native Roxana Saberi is being held in prison on a court order. They have said she was engaged in "illegal" activities because she continued working after the government revoked her press credentials in 2006.

Senators Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan and Representative Earl Pomeroy say the State Department is working with Swiss government officials who represent U.S. interests to find out more details and to make sure the 31-year-old Saberi has an attorney.

Saberi's parents have said they had had no word from her since Feb. 10.
