Snow, snow, and more snow

ROCHESTER, MN (FOX 47) -- Most of the area picked up a healthy 3-5" of fresh, powder-y snow from Friday night into Saturday morning.

The Rochester area picked up about five inches of snow, making a wintry mess for travelers. It also forced many to dust off their shovels, and plows were out in full-force.

Strong winds are blowing the fluffy snow around, and limiting visibility in many spots. Roads are snow covered and icy in spots.

Until this snow, the monthly total had been just under an inch. Which was OK for some people, who say they're ready to put away their parkas, and say goodbye to winter for good.

"I'm sick of the snow too.  I'm sick of the snow, you know it's going to come, it's Minnesota, it's going to snow in April. Well, we're gonna snow until June."

This was the first significant snowfall the Rochester area saw since January 12th, when 5.0" fell. You'd have to go back to mid-December to find a snowfall accumulation of at least that much.
