Blizzard conditions roll in

(FOX 47) -- Conditions are going to be getting worse late this afternoon and evening with blowing snow and blizzard conditions across portions of southern Minnesota and north Iowa.

Travel is going to be difficult this evening, but improving toward Tuesday morning with lighter winds.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for much of Minnesota until Midnight, and a Blizzard Warning for portions of north Iowa until 3am. 

After Midnight, winds will remain strong and resultant wind chills will be as cold as -30° to -35°. After a sunny (and very cold) start to our Tuesday, clouds will return Tuesday evening, and another round of snow is on the way for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

    Byron High School was vandalized in the early hours Friday morning. Graffiti and eggs were used to ruin school property. The school building, as well as the electronic sign and bear statue out front, were covered with red, green, white, and black graffiti. The school's front windows and electronic sign were also hit with eggs. Two volunteers were out front cleaning the graffiti and eggs off the windows.     An early morning crash on I-90 slowed the morning commute and left a load of alcoholic beverages in the median of the interstate. The crash happened at mile marker 213, about a mile east of Stewartville. It shut down one westbound lane.  Our crew on the scene learned the driver fell asleep at the wheel around 5 am. Police later arrested Rickford Munger, 61, who has a long criminal history of such activity.
