Police find owner of submerged SUV

ROCHESTER, MN (FOX 47) -- The Rochester Police Department found the owner of an SUV submerged in water at West Circle Drive and 7th Street Northwest in a storm water retention pond.

The fire department responded to multiple 911 calls Thursday morning.  The police department, Gold Cross, and the Minnesota State Patrol started a perimeter search of the tall grass looking for anyone who may have been ejected.

Fire crews searched the SUV and found a child's car seat, but nobody inside.

Firefighters searched the six foot deep water around the car using pike poles as well as the most likely travel route through the water to its final resting place.

The 911 calls started coming in as the light of the dawn made the SUV visable to drivers on the adjacent roadways.

The owner, 33-year-old Quang Le was not hurt.
