Building explosion in Claremont

CLAREMONT, MN (FOX 47) --Emergency crews are on the scene of an explosion at a fireworks manufacturing facility near Claremont.

The Dodge County Sheriff says a 911 call came in at 2:25 p.m. and when crews arrived they found a man running from a 30x50 foot shed with a hole through his thigh.

He was airlifted by Mayo One to a burn unit in the Twin Cities.

A man who lives next door is a first responder and says he is surprised the man is still alive

The Sheriff says there are fireworks still inside the building, which is located on 120th Avenue just outside of Claremont.
