Man impaled by fence post after car accident

ROCHESTER, MN (FOX 47) - A car accident Friday night sent one man to the hospital - with a fence post through his body.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a minivan left southbound Highway 52 just south of Highway 14 and the Civic Center Drive interchange around 10:20 Friday night. The vehicle rolled into the ditch.

28-year-old William Bartlett from Dodge County went through the minivan's windshield and was impaled by a nearby fence post. Bartlett is still in critical condition at Saint Marys hospital.

The State Patrol says three young children were also in the minivan.

They escaped with minor injuries.
