After one rocky year, a record harvest

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (FOX 47) -- After a year-long wild ride, Minnesota farmers can relax - and smile, because the state will harvest its largest corn crop in history!

Despite late spring planting and floods that ravaged the heart of the Corn Belt, the US Department of Agriculture says yeilds will be good.

This, thanks to the return of good growing weather - the troubled economy then softened demand and grain prices plunged.

Besides happy farmers, consumers will also benefit.

The United States will enjoy its second-largest corn harvest ever.
