Gov. Pawlenty visits Stewartville

STEWARTVILLE, MN (FOX 47) -- Governor Tim Pawlenty made a stop in Stewartville Thursday morning stumping for Bill Kuisle and other area Republican candidates.

Kuisle is running against incumbent state representative Andy Welti to represent district 30B, which serves Stewartville, Eyota, Dover, Elgin, Plainview and part of Chatfield in Wabasha and Olmsted Counties.

Governor Pawlenty said we need candidates who will live within our means and the legislature needs people with fiscal discipline when they are in office.

Both Kuisle and Pawlenty said in an economy like ours, raising taxes is not the answer.

Governor Tim Pawlenty says, "People are struggling to pay their grocery bills, they're struggling to pay their energy bills, they're struggling to pay their healthcare insurance bill and the last thing they need is government dumping more tax burdens on their backs. That's just not what Minnesota families and small businesses need right now."

Candidate Bill Kuisle says, "I beleive that we should control spending and not rpomise things that we can't deliver on and there's a lot of promises being made now that can't be fulfilled, no way, no how."

Kuisle served in the Minnesota Legislature from 1996 to 2004.

He says in these last six days before the election he will continue going door to door to raise support.
