District 27A candidates face off

AUSTIN, MN (FOX 47) -- On Monday night, the big topic was education in District 27A, which covers Freeborn and Mower Counties.

Democrat Robin Brown says, "I think besides education and economic development that comes under a bigger category, and the category is quality of life so if I were to pick one thing that I would concentrate on: I would concentrate on the quality of life here in Minnesota with an emphasis on education and economic development."

Republican Erik Larson says, "One of my main planks is try and make Minnesota a much friendlier state to jobs. This is particularly important to our district here because we've had a shrinking population, and with a shrinking population you're creating forever a budgetary problem if we don't turn this around and we're going to have to get people to move to our district if we're going to do that we have to have jobs, and if we're going to have jobs we're going to need employers, and if we're going to have employers we're going to have to be friendlier to them."
