Solving cold cases one card at a time

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA (AP) Minnesota officials hope playing cards will give them some hot leads on cold cases.

The Departments of Corrections and Public Safety are teaming up on a statewide effort to generate leads in 52 Minnesota cold cases featured on playing cards.

The departments worked with local and county law enforcement to create the deck of cards.

The cards highlight unsolved homicide, missing person and unidentified remains cases.

Each card features a photograph of the victim, information about the case and how to submit a tip.

The decks are being distributed to inmates in state prisons and county jails, as well as to victims' families.
