Some pool to find the cure

ROCHESTER, MN (FOX 47) -- Master pool champions and casual players met this weekend to play for cancer research.

Players of all abilities came to the Rochester Holiday Inn South to compete in a tournament called Chalk it Up for Cancer Research.

About 15 years ago a Rochester family started the tournament, and two years ago they decided to turn it over to the Eagles Club.

John Stich, tournament organizer, says, "And we sat around the table at the Eagles one day trying to come up with a new name, whether we were going to name it after a person or what, and I said we should make it something catchy like 'Chalk it Up for Cancer Research', and the next thing you know it stuck."

All of the money raised this weekend will go to the Eagles Cancer Telethon.

The tournament ends Sunday night.
