Home heating help

(KTTC TV) -- A warm-up is on the way for some Iowans struggling to pay their heating bills.

In an announcement over the weekend, the U-S Department of Heath and Human Services says it will release nearly $77-million to Iowans who need help with home energy bills this winter.

These funds are part of a nationwide five point one billion dollar assistance program helping low-income households with heating bills during the cold months.

Heating oil and natural gas costs are expected to go up as the temperatures go down, and this money will assist Iowans who need to stay warm.

To apply for assistance contact, call Iowa's Energy Assistance Division at 515-281-4204.
