EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Vikings coach Brad Childress says the team was unaware that fullback Thomas Tapeh had surgery to "clean up" an existing knee issue before he signed with Minnesota.
Childress says he had a talk with Tapeh last week to discuss playing time and is "just finding out now" about the surgery that happened after his season with the Eagles.
Tapeh has been inactive for the last four games. Childress has elected to go with Naufahu Tahi (fah-HOO tah-HEE) instead because of his ability to play special teams as well.
Childress says he wishes Tapeh would have told him about the procedure, but added that the fullback is healthy now and eager to get on the field.
