Berrian rests sore toe, bad knee but expects to start against Detroit

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Vikings receiver Bernard Berrian did not practice yesterday so he could rest a chronically sore toe and a bad knee. But he does expect to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson was held out for the second day in a row while recovering from a concussion suffered in Monday night's Saints game.

Meanwhile, quarterback Jon Kitna's 36-game starting streak with Detroit is in jeopardy.

Kitna missed a second straight practice yesterday because of an injured back, leaving Dan Orlovsky and Drew Stanton to split snaps.

Lions offensive coordinator Jim Colletto says the team might not know if Kitna can play against the Vikings until pregame workouts.
