ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Former Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona comes to Minnesota today to lend some expertise to the political debate over health care.
Carmona will headline a health care forum and host a panel discussion between representatives of the presidential campaigns of John McCain and Barack Obama.
Carmona served as surgeon general from 2002 to 2006.
He later accused President Bush's administration of manipulating health reports for political reasons and muzzling him on politically sensitive issues such as abstinence-only sex education and embryonic stem cell research.
The forum will be held at General Mills headquarters in Golden Valley.
