Green cement in Winona

WINONA, MN (FOX 47) -- A new type of pavement that may change the way parking lots are created is being installed at Winona State.

The technology is called Pervious Concrete, and it's a special mixture that helps absorb storm and drainage water.

The effort is part of a series of projects at Winona State aimed at helping the University reduce its impact on the environment.

According to the contractor and Winona State University, this is the first time this type of concrete has been used in southeast Minnesota.
