Conservation officers help a bear out of a tight situation in northern Minnesota.

It happened last week when officers with the Minnesota DNR responded to an emergency call in Roseau, near the Canadian border. A 150-pound black bear had his head stuck in a milk jug.

At first, officers drilled holes in the jug so the bear could breathe. They then rubbed cooking oil on the bear's head in hopes that the jug would slide off. When that didn't work, they called in the fire department who eventually used the jaws of life to remove the jug.

Once free, the bear took a quick look around before darting off toward the woods.
