1 person arrested after deputies say he crashed an UTV while driving drunk

NEAR CHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

A late-night call for medical help ends with a man in jail after an apparent UTV accident.

The initial call came from a 71-year-old victim complaining of back, rib, and spinal pain. The victim told deputies he thought he fell off a roof. But that story quickly fell apart.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says the man was clearly intoxicated.

When deputies arrived to the scene at 7300 Collegeview Road they discovered a utility vehicle flipped over in a nearby ditch. Soon, authorities learned that 54-year-old Paul Cassidy, of rural Eyota, was behind the wheel earlier that evening when he lost control and flipped during a sharp turn.

Cassidy faces a DUI and Criminal Vehicular Operation charge but he's been uncooperative with authorities.

The crash sent the 71-year-old to the hospital. Two women were also in the UTV. They were not hurt, when the crash happened around 10 p.m. Monday.
