Woman killed in Wisconsin house explosion


CABLE, WI (KTTC) - A house explosion in Cable, Wisconsin killed a woman, sent her husband to a hospital and left one firefighter with minor injuries.

Neighbors called in the explosion at 45975 S. Lake Owen Drive at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say the home was "blown apart in a large area and half of it was engulfed in flames."

Two victims inside the home, Raymond Reidl and his wife Joyce, both were air lifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Joyce died from her injuries. Raymond was in critical condition at last update.

Authorities say, one firefighter went to the Hayward Hospital after suffering non life-threatening burns while trying to rescue one of the victims. Authorities added he was able to return to work that night.

The Division of Criminal investigation of WI and the State Fire Marshall will be assisting the local fire department in the investigation.
