Proposed fire code changes could touch on food trucks, blasting operations in Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

Rochester leaders will talk about changing parts of the city's fire code Monday afternoon.

Deputy Chief Steve Belau has been working former City Attorney Terry Adkins to make some changes to the Chapter 55 Fire Prevention code.
According to an email to city council, Belau says the code has been modified in pieces over the years.

The changes add a section to cover blasting operations in town after getting feedback from concerned residents.
Food trucks would also be added to the code, to address fire and life safety requirements.

The revisions will be discussed at Monday's Committee of the Whole meeting.
