Triton student arrested after making online threat

A Triton Public Schools student is arrested after posting a threat online.

That student posted on social media warning students not to come to school Monday. Another student saw the post and reported it to their parents who then reported it to Dodge County School Resource Officer David Skadson. Deputy Skadson worked with patrol deputies and investigations who located the student at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

The student admitted to the threat, but said it wasn't serious. After interviewing the student, law enforcement is confident the student acted alone with the threat.

They arrested the student and took them to a juvenile holding facility in Rochester.

A court appearance is set for Monday morning, but charges have yet to be determined by the Dodge County Attorney's Office.

Triton School officials say there is no safety threat at this time. They encourage students to always report any threat to the Sheriff's Office.
