Rochester joins other cities to Stamp Out Hunger

Hunger affects about 50 million Americans, and on Saturday Rochester joined 10,000 other U.S. cities in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

The nation's largest annual food drive is run by the National Association of Letter Carriers. People put non-perishable food items in or around their mailbox.

Letter carriers then picked them up on their routes. Channel One food bank said it hopes to fill 50 crates this year.

Although the drive didn't officially start until Saturday, donations that came in on Friday have already filled a crate.

Donations will help supplement bare pantry shelves after the long winter.
