Posted:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

UPDATE: The first 911 call reported a drunk man trying to fight the caller outside their home.

When officers arrived after 4:50 this morning, the suspect got in his vehicle and drove away.

A low speed pursuit then ensued, with the suspect stopping at lights and using his turn signals.

The chase continued down 7th Street when State Patrol officers deployed spike strips and disabled the tires.

The suspect then took off at a higher speed and the pursuit was called off for public safety.

The vehicle was found ditched at the intersection of 8th Street and 6th Avenue NW, with the suspect's keys, wallet, and ID inside.

Neighbors in the area called to report someone running through their yards.

A perimeter from Silver Lake Drive to Broadway was set up, but police couldn't find the suspect after a search that ended just before 7 a.m.

The ID left in the vehicle had a Broadway address in Rochester. The man could face felony fleeing charges.
