Shots fired in Southeast Rochester

Just before 8:30 last night, Rochester police officers responded to reports of shots fired in South East Rochester.

It happened in the 2500 block of Pinewood Road.

When police arrived, they reportedly recovered eight shell casings in the street in front of a family's home.

A car parked in front of the house was hit by three bullets, two of which landed in the trunk and in the bumper.

Three people live at the home, a 52-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, and a 12-year-old child.

Police say the family couldn't think of anyone that would want to harm them.

There were no injuries reported, and no eye witnesses have yet come forward.

The investigation is ongoing, but Lt. Mike Sadauskis of RPD says that the violence may have been directed at a person that used to live there.

When police canvased the surrounding neighborhood, several people reported hearing gunshots or fireworks, but no one saw anything that could help the case.
