1 Triton student arrested following alleged threats to others

A Triton student is taken into custody after authorities say he made threats to others.

According to Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose, at around 10:55 p.m. Thursday, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office received information regarding alleged threats made by a Triton student. The information indicated the student had advised other students both verbally and via Snapchat that they better not come school on Friday, March 2, because he was going to harm people.

Deputies immediately began interviewing the person who gave them the information and other witnesses. After interviewing them, deputies were able to locate the student at his house. He was taken into custody around 11:51 p.m.

The student told the deputies that he was not serious with the threats. Authorities believe the student was acting alone with the threats.

He was transported to the juvenile holding facility in Rochester and will make his first court appearance Friday morning on charges to be determined by the Dodge County Attorney’s Office. Triton School officials were also contacted by Deputy David Skadson and immediately briefed on the incident after the arrest.
