Rochester Civic Theatre names new Executive Director

Posted:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

This week marks a new act for the Rochester Civic Theatre. The Rochester Civic Theatre turns to an out-of-state talent to steer the group away from a turbulent 2017.

The company announced Kevin Miller took over as Executive Director effective Monday. Miller served in the same role for a decade at the Thelma Sadoff center for the arts in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He studied theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and was a stage actor performing in New York, Chicago, and overseas.

Miller takes over for Gregory Stavrou, who announced his departure last spring, just a few months before sexual harassment allegations emerged from multiple women. Civic Theatre also dealt with the departure of longtime Artistic Director, Gregory Miller, and financial woes that required city help.

But now, the group is focused on the future.

The Theatre's Board President said in a statement she's looking forward to "many good years ahead."
