ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

Rochester's Polar Plunge is back, once again raising thousands of dollars for Special Olympics Minnesota.

The two-day event begins Friday morning, when students take the plunge with their classmates.

Each participant has raised at least 75 dollars to take the frigid fall.

Then, Saturday, the main event begins at 1:30 p.m.

Last year, more than 950 people threw caution to the wind and took the plunge, raising close to $275,000 dollars for Special Olympics Minnesota.
