Trial underway for 2016 Winona murder

Posted:
WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -

A jury was selected last week, and the trial began Tuesday for Ricky Waiters at the Winona County Courthouse.

A grand jury indicted him in November 2016 on nine charges, including two of first degree murder.

Back in July 2016, eyewitnesses say Waiters had parked in a no parking zone outside EB's No Name Bar.

That's when another man approached him to tell him he wasn't supposed to park there.

Waiters then allegedly fired six shots into the crowd outside the bar.

53-year-old Bob Johnson died at the scene.

Waiters is being held on $5 million bond.
