A bright outlook for Minnesota's solar industry according to a report released Wednesday.

According to the Solar Foundation's annual National Solar Jobs Census, Minnesota's solar workforce increased 48 percent in 2017.
The state added about 15-hundred workers, to bring the total to just over 42-hundred.

Only Delaware saw a greater percentage increase from 2016 to 2017. Iowa also saw a big jump with a 45 percent increase.

Although the U.S. as a whole saw a 4 percent decrease in workers the last year.
But the industry still employs twice as many workers as the coal industry.
