Eagles fans at U.S. Bank stadium thrilled to watch Super Bowl history made, live

The Eagles chant was a very common sound Sunday night.

It was a night decades in the making.

"We've been lifetime fans waiting a long time for this drought to end," Deven Shroff, there with his family, said. "This is unbelievable."

A win that was not expected.

"No, not in my lifetime, no," another Eagles fan said.

Three generations of the Shroff family made their way out to brave the cold, and it was all worth it.

"We hoped, it we willed it, we believed it and here we are, it happened," Shroff said.

For the City of Brotherly Love, it only made sense to be with the closest people in your life.

"I'm here with my boy Mark, I grew up with my man right here, same block, we've known each other since we were 8 years old," That previous Eagles fan, said. "We came here together, we won the championship together, we won the super bowl together."

And Patriots fans losing with grace.

"E-a-g-l-e-s,"One Eagles fan chanted to Travis Pouliot, a Patriots fan. "Hey we're all good people right, we're fans," Pouliot responded.

With the win as theatrical as it was, it almost made the Vikings loss at the NFC Championship a bit more palatable.

"You know it was a fun experience having the Super Bowl in Minneapolis," Travis Volk, a Vikings fan there with his brother, said. "I mean we lost to the team that won so you can't be too disappointed but we'd be better off if we were here."

What's for sure is,  this a game the fans will never forget.

"I'll be telling my kids this for as long as I live," that same Eagles fan said.
